All Rise! for our Ignite speaker

You could have heard a pin drop in the Winchester House Crown Court as Criminal Barrister (and acting Judge for the day) Stephanie Dodd commenced proceedings for the case of Regina vs Goldilocks. With the Hall transformed into a Court Room, complete with Prosecution and Defence Counsels M Magnay and J Leigh, the Defendant Goldilocks (L Fagan) and a jury of 12 children from Years 4 to 7, the scene was set. The gallery listened with intrigue to the case which accused Goldilocks of stealing Mr Bear’s iPhoneX, breaking Bobby Bear’s chair and the witnesses being cross examined; M McGowan as Mrs Bear, J Smith as Mr Bear, L Taylor as PC Sherlock and I Reader as Professor Scene of Crime Officer. The Defence and Prosecution Counsels gave their closing speeches before the Jury retired with Usher Katy Dallimore to consider the case. Lead Juror E Jones gave the Jury’s verdict, finding Goldilocks guilty of stealing Mr Bear’s iPhoneX but not guilty of breaking Bobby Bear’s chair. Goldilocks was fined £900, the price of the phone, and given community service. Stephanie’s brilliant re-enactment of a court of justice, brilliant script and fascinating Questions & Answers session made for a fantastic Ignite talk and enlightening afternoon.
