Big dig in Seligman

On Monday 11th June, children in Years 3 and 4 were lucky enough to be visited by Rocky’s Grandpa, Gerald Cadogan, a well-known archaeologist and author.

Mr Cadogan told the children all about archaeology and showed them some of his finds. He told them that he had wanted to be an archaeologist from the age of 14 and told them about some of his experiences, mainly in Knossos in Crete.

He also told them he had made his daughter, Nancy, sweep the dusty ground for the photographs taken at the end of the day when she was 6 years old!

The children loved the red and white turban he had from Palestine to keep the dust off his head.

They really enjoyed the presentation and learnt lots of new facts.
