Inspired by Churchill

Our Lent Public Speaking activity this year is building towards a competition at Blenheim Palace and is inspired by Winston Churchill. The school will be entering two teams comprised of children from Years 5 to 8 who will be judged on their ability to reference Churchill whilst persuading the audience to change their behaviour, or attitude on a subject which matters to our teams. (I am yet to resolve how to use Churchill's words on the subject of Fortnite). To learn more about the late Harrovian, we took a trip to Blenheim where we learnt he was born, that he attended the future boarding house of one of our team's members and where we were given an expert tour and public speaking workshop. Our two teams are now working towards creating a first version of their speech, one which you will be able to appreciate if you decide to attend our Public Speaking Evening in March.

We would like to thank Blenheim Education for the fascinating tour and workshop.
