Every year we select a charity that we support through a number of fundraising initiatives. The charity works with the School to bring to life all the wonderful things they do through assemblies and talks. The School, staff and children all help with fundraising both at School (cake sales) and during the holidays (sponsored bike rides).  This year we have selected Katharine House Hospice and Helen & Douglas House.

Please see below, to learn a little more about these worthy causes -

Katharine House Hospice

provides specialist palliative care for adults with life limiting conditions across North Oxfordshire, South Northamptonshire & South Warwickshire. Whilst caring for people at the end of life, they also offer support for symptom management and pain relief. Their care is not just about managing the physical symptoms of disease, they know that people also need emotional and spiritual support too so their professionals are there to help too. Katharine House Hospice care is offered throughout the local community. Whilst many of their patients come in to the hospice, they care for many more in their own homes, care homes or in the hospital.

All of their services are free of charge. To learn more, please visit

Helen & Douglas House

helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child who will die prematurely. Helen & Douglas House is a home from home for local terminally ill children and their families. They provide round-the-clock care in a warm, loving environment. They are a comforting cocoon filled with laughter, a peaceful place where families can create happy memories in their last days, weeks, months or years together.

Based in Oxford, but supporting families from surrounding counties and as far as London, Helen & Douglas House cares for terminally ill children at the hospice and through their outreach service. At Helen House, the world’s first children’s hospice, they care for babies and children up to the age of 18.  Parents, brothers, sisters, and grandparents are all part of the Helen & Douglas House family. At the toughest time of their lives, they give families the time and space to enjoy the precious moments they have left with each other. In the midst of exhaustion and grief, they help them cope with their child’s final days. To learn more, please visit -
