WHS players rally together at Radley Tennis Tournament

Both our Senior and Junior boys' tennis teams had a very successful day at the annual Radley tournament on Sunday 13th May. This is the highest level of tennis that they are required to play during the term and the Senior boys did well in their group, narrowly missing a place in the main finals but qualifying for the plate final by beating Moulsford. In the final they managed to draw by 14 games all with Cothill but according to the tournament rules, they had to concede defeat by a technical count-back.

In the Junior competition, our two boys' pairs qualified top of their group by some margin and then played Cothill in the semi-finals. This proved to be a very close encounter in which we won one match and lost the other but once again, it ended by losing on the same technical count-back rule.

Well done to all who played on a sunny day in beautiful surroundings at Radley with many parents and old boys in attendance.

Please note - F Finlan and O Butler (1st pair) are not present in this photograph, as they were busy being very useful, collecting balls from around the courts!
