Pre-Prep support school in Orkney Islands

| Year 2 holding their gifts from Burray School |
To discover what it is like to live on an island, Year 2 linked up with a school in Orkney. Burray School has 33 children between the ages of 5 and 12, and two staff. This meant that every child in Year 2 now has a pen-pal in Scotland. We have exchanged letters and photographs of the children and of our schools. The children were excited to see how close to the sea the playground at Burray is and also to learn about the exciting jobs some of the Burray parents have. Not many children at WHS have a deep sea diving daddy!
We have just received a parcel from Burray, containing another letter each, a rubber with a puffin on for every child, a lovely tea-towel of Orkey and a delicious box of Orkney fudge! We are enjoying this topic!! In return we have sent each child one of our Winchester House key rings and pens.
