Winchester House Athletes National Champions

At the National Prep Schools Athletic Championships held at Birmingham, Winchester House athletes achieved phenomenal results. Representing the eastern area of the country the children had already overcome extremely tough competition from 46 schools to make it through to the National finals.

At the end of the competition the school had amassed a total of 3 National Champions and 2 Bronze medallists. This represents a fantastic effort and they are all to be congratulated. The successful athletes were as follows; Saskia Jones ,U12 Discus 1^st (22.89 mts) National record and School record. Saskia also competed in the U12 shot and came a creditable 5th (6mts.69).

Charlotte Russell-Parsons, U13 70mts Hurdles 1^st, National champion (11.9sec).Charlotte also equalled the school record.

Sam Pointon U14 75mt Hurdles, 1^st National champion (11.4 sec) and Sam also broke the school record.

Max Marston, U12 shot 3^rd place (8.03mts) Bronze medal.

Ben Pointon, U12 70mt Hurdles 3^rd place (12.7)Bronze medal.

Henry Woodward, U12 800mts 4^th (2min 30.5sec)
