We offer occasional, weekly and full boarding.
Occasional boarding involves a minimum of two consecutive nights staying at the school. This has proved to be very popular and a successful lead into weekly boarding and then very often full boarding.
Weekly boarding means that the children stay at school from Monday until the end of school on Saturday and go home Saturday afternoon/evening and all day Sunday. They may return to school on Sunday evening if they wish.
Full boarding means the children spend the whole weekend here but go home for exeats (one in every three weekends approximately) and of course for the main holidays. There is a full programme of activities for full boarders, including a formal, themed dinner on Saturday evenings. Recent Sunday outings have included a trip to Alton Towers, walking in the Peak district, a bowling outing and a theatre trip.
The boarding evening starts at 6.50pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and at 5pm (or after matches) on a Wednesday. Bedtime is between 8.30pm and 9.00pm, according to age. (These times are 15 minutes later in the summer term). Tuck Shop is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Children can start to board from Year 3 (aged7-8).
