A big thank you to the Pre-Prep Department who raised over £1000 for The Banbury Foodbank over the past few months. As well as being the first to donate food collected at Harvest Festival to the Foodbank, they have also successfully raised this considerable amount of money through various initiatives including sales of tea towels and dvd’s of their fantastic nativity play.
The donation will make a real difference. Sarah Williams of the Banbury Foodbank says “Families are finding it more and more difficult to make ends meet, especially after Christmas so the food we are able to give them really makes a difference. The food is donated by local people and schools and such is the success of the project we are now looking for larger storage space”.
The Banbury Foodbank is part of the Trussel Trust and pledges to give food to people in crisis free of charge. They provide nutritionally balanced food in emergency boxes to people in need, who have been identified by care professionals.
