Author Visit
The well-known children's author, Adele Geras, visited Winchester House on Monday October 5th as part of our celebration of Book Week. She gave stimulating talks to all children in years 3 to 8 about her life as a writer and the process of writing. Children throughout the school are now devouring various of her novels, including Troy, Ithaka, Cecily's Portrait and Lizzie's Wish.
Meanwhile, in the English Department we have noted some of her tips on avoiding writer's block so that we can pass them on to generations of budding writers at WHS. Why not talk to your children about places which you visit which would make good settings for stories?
