General Knowledge Quiz
Leachman lift the cup of knowledge!
The 2010 house general knowledge quiz was hotly contested with one of the most nail-biting finishes on record. As the klaxon sounded for the end of the contest, Priestland and Leachman were tied on 90 points each. It all rested on a final sudden death question: “What is the modern name for the ancient city of Peking?” Keeping a cool head under pressure, Thomas Young buzzed first to give the winning answer and enable Leachman to lift the cup of knowledge this year
Congratulations to him and his team mates: Archie Supple, Matthew Haslam and Nicholas Upton. Commiserations and an honourable mention are also due to Ed Biggart, Henry Gore, Hugh Campbell and Ivo Beatty of the Priestland team who ran them so close. Many thanks once again to Mr Spry-Leverton of Uppingham School for his highly professional stage management of this enormously enjoyable event.
