The sheets in this booklet have been put together for parents to help their children learn specific rules or information that are needed.
The booklet contains
1 Dividing rules
2 First twenty Prime Numbers
3 Names of 2D shapes
4 Properties of 2D shapes
5 Area formulae for 2D shapes
6 Fraction, decimal and percentage equivalents
7 Squared and cubed numbers
8 Basic conversions
9 Number sequences to recognise
The sheets cover work from year 3 to year 8. Depending on the ability of the child some rules and information can be or will be covered in different year groups. If you are not sure it is best to ask your child’s maths teacher which topics are best learnt in your child’s particular year.
I haven’t included a times table grid, but please help your child to learn his or her tables up to 12 x 12. [If possible go all the way up to 15 x 15 if your child has the interest and ability]! Please practise their quick recall whenever you can. Also using tables to do quick division is an essential skill.
Also, I haven’t included number bonds. These start off as what pairs of numbers add up to make 10, then 20, then 30, then 40 etc until you get to 100. It can go further and include pairs of numbers that add up to 1000. The possible questions are endless!
I hope you find these sheets useful. Any work that you can do at home to support the work your child is covering in class will help your child. As teachers we are always grateful for your support. Thank you.
