Weekend 26-27.3.11

While the boys were playing hockey and rugby, our girl boarders headed off for a photo challenge at Stowe gardens. Two teams vied to collect the most points as they ticked off as many photo scenarios from the list provided as they could. There was much whizzing around, spotting of wildlife, finding locations and snapping of shots.
A cracking photo gallery was produced and some very daft poses struck. A well-deserved drink in the Tea Rooms finished proceedings off and then it was back to Drayton for baking cookies and apple crumble with Miss Muir and Miss Morphet.

On Sunday afternoon the girls had a great time at the Escape Snow Zone in the futuristic city of Milton Keynes. The Piste inside the giant refrigerator was cool!  As was the air temperature of -1 degrees C.  After collecting their boots, ski poles and helmets the W.H.S ski team hit the slopes.  The next two hours were filled with some great skiing. Some of the team raced down the 500m real snow slope at top speed whilst others made trains and some even sang to entertain those on the poma lifts.

There were carving turns, mogul jumping and a few total wipe outs too. The most notable achievement of the afternoon was one of the team managing to go from a Bambie on planks falling on every run to standing up and skiing the whole slope snow plough style in just 45 minutes. Well done to all 9 Girls!
