Animal Farm:
160 feet good, 2 feet bad
It's no small feat to get over eighty children to perform on stage in the same production, nor any minor undertaking to transform the School Hall into a farmyard. The ambitious production of Animal Farm managed both magnificently, and was triumphantly received by audiences on Thursday and Friday. The commitment, enthusiasm and sheer hard work of all the children in years 7 and 8 was evident. It is hard to select individuals for mention but impossible to pass over the bravura performances of Boxer (Anastasia Grafftey-Smith and Millie Purton), Napoleon (Jack Firoozan and William Stallibrass), Squealer (James Alley and Ivo Beatty), Snowball (Zinnia Satchell) and Mollie (Violet Crawfurd).
Congratulations also go to the Director, James Gillam, Annie Chatfield, Matthew Phillips, Toby Till, Mike Hill, Suzanne Kennedy in school and the army of mothers, ably martialled by Grace Palmer, who organised the costumes.
It was a great evening of entertainment. Thank you years 7 & 8.
