Trouble in Troy

Trouble In Troy

“Beware of Greeks Bearing Gifts.”

The year seven play gave us an amusing and unusual musical slant on the well loved story of The Trojan Horse.

Spectakles, played superbly by Lucy Chetwode, was an ambitious inventor and slave who finds his life in danger when his inventions and aspirations lead him into the midst of the conflict between the Greeks and Trojans.

After much comedy, drama, ice cream eating and inspirational renditions of well known songs, one of Spectakles’ past inventions, The Wooden Horse, is given by the Greeks to the Trojans.

The rest, as they say, is history!

The whole cast performed with confidence and competence, whilst “House Band”, which comprised of a large number of staff and Tom Rees on the saxophone added that extra sparkle to the occasion. It certainly was a hugely enjoyable and memorable show!
