Our Year 8’s did us proud in their preparation for this year’s House Shout. With our team of judges, scorer and technical wizards, Leachman opened the proceedings with their rendition of Dancing in the Moonlight. This was a crowd pleaser and the audience (bigger than ever this year) showed their appreciation with raucous applause and seemed to enjoy the beautiful moon which magically appeared over the children towards the end of the song.

Gascoigne had decided to tackle a Take That favourite and they ‘Shone’ their way through their song. The children worked well together and Shine, with a little persuasive use of banners in the chorus, got the audience and judges deliberating their scores.

Bryant burst into song with The Beatles, Twist and Shout and their energetic singing and choreography certainly kept the evening’s energy levels high and the children obviously loved working together in this lively performance.

Priestland had a tough act to follow, but follow, they almost did – a few technical hitches with a well used CD almost put a halt to the evening! Luckily, a parent came to the rescue with an itouch and the correct backing and we were off again. Priestland had chosen a tricky ‘Grease’ mega-mix, but thrilled the audience and judges with a bit of Summer lovin’, Grease lightening and You’re the one that I want.

All on all, it was once again a great evening and it was wonderful to see children from years 4 – 8 working together and having such a lot of fun.

Congratulations go to Bryant, who gained the most points from the judges with Twist and Shout. We all enjoyed joining in with the winning song at the end and look forward to what next year will bring.
