Hats for Haiti
Hats for Haiti!
Children and Staff in the Pre-Prep wore hats to school today to raise money for the DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee). Some children had made their hats, one Granddad had made a very special hat, some wore unusual hats found in dressing up boxes and some had borrowed a hat from Mum or Dad.
They wore Hats for Haiti, they Hopped in Hats for Haiti, they Held Hands and Hopped in Hats for Haiti and finally they Hushed in Hats for Haiti, taking time to think about why they were wearing a hat and why Haiti desperately needed the help provided by the money raised. A special mention goes to Henry White who had made his own hat, writing some words about the earthquake, showing a map of Haiti and also some pictures of the sort of food people might eat in Haiti. Finally a big thank you for all the donations from parents and especially from children. One child had emptied his money box and given what he had to help the children of Haiti. In total a Huge amount was raised: £323.74!
