Waste Recycling

On Thursday 4th March, Winchester House School was visited by the Northamptonshire Waste Education Bus.
Mr Heathcote came to talk to the children in Year 4 about how to reduce, reuse and recycle as part of the SLIM YOUR BIN @SCHOOL campaign and to reinforce their learning about recycling in Green Project.

After a short talk, the children spent half of the session doing recycling activities and the other half playing some recycling games on the computers. The bus was full of toys and stationary made from recycled items from all over the world.  A lot of fun was had by all!

On Thursday 6th May, Year 4 visited the Waste Education Centre in Northampton as part of their Green Project studies on the three R’s. They got to see where their recycling goes once it leaves their homes and how it gets sorted. They also learnt how important it is to wash out your recycling because everyone agreed it was a bit smelly
