Aims

The aims of the Friends of Winchester House School are to:

Enhance the education, which Winchester House provides by encouraging goodwill and generosity towards the school as well as assuring a positive atmosphere among those connected with Winchester House through events run by the association.

Objectives

The objectives of the Friends of Winchester House School are to:

Provide a support network to new children and their families on entering the school

Provide social and fundraising events for the benefit of the school and other charities, as agreed by the Headmaster.

Membership

Foremost, parents of pupils at the school, as well as any person wishing to offer appropriate support or help to the school, who is accepted by the committee as a member.

Annual General Meeting

An Annual General Meeting of the Friends of Winchester House School shall be held at the school, during the Summer Term each year, at which elections for committee members for the next academic year shall be held.

The Annual General Meeting shall be open to all members of the association, Parents and Staff of children at Winchester House.

Chairman and Committee

The Friends of Winchester house School shall be run by a committee of 12 members constituted as follows:

Treasurer x 1

Pre-Preparatory Representatives
New Children Representative(s)

School Marketing Officer and Head’s Wife (or other staff representatives appointed by the school)

In addition to the Core Committee, there wi ll be a sub-committee comprising of 20 members i.e. two parent representatives from each year group of the school – (Nursery to Year 8).

The Committee shall have the power to co-opt additional members when considered appropriate by the committee,. Any member so appointed shall hold office until the next AGM and may then be elected at the AGM to continue in office.

Tenures

Core Committee members may hold office for a maximum of three successive years unless otherwise decided by the Friends of Winchester House in General Meeting

All Form Representatives will stand for one year each.

The Committee membership of the School Marketing Officer and the Head’s Wife (or other school representatives) will continue unless changed by the school.
