On a very pleasant, warm sunny day Winchester House U12’s competed in the Oakham School annual 7’s tournament. The boys played some outstanding rugby and produced some excellent results. It was a joy to watch fast, flowing rugby with plenty of well worked tries. At times, it was rugby 7’s at its very best. After progressing through the group stages conceding only one try and scoring fifteen we had our work cut out in the semi finals against Oakham A team. They had some big strong boys but were unable to cope with the way we threw the ball from one side of the pitch to the other. We ran them around and our fitness told as we comfortably eased to a 28-7 victory. The final was against a very strong Witham Hall who played the same style of 7’s that we did. It was a very close fought game with some super defence from both teams. Unfortunately, we were beaten 14-7 in a very good game.

It was a fantastic day, the boys played very well should be very proud of their achievements.
