What the parents say
From a registered parent......
"I wanted to thank you personally for the wonderful evening at The Arts Club. Richard and I had a great time, it was so useful to meet more of the staff, and to meet some existing parents.
We left feeling very satisfied that our children will be educated in a very upbeat and rewarding environment and for Richard and I, that we will be joining a community with very like minded people - which is very comforting when embarking on such a major move"
From a current parent......
"Having moved to Northamptonshire in 1996 from London, we were aware of Winchester House's excellent reputation and to be quite honest this was the only school at which we looked. Soon we realised that we were not to be disappointed.
Some 8 years later the evidence of our investment is obvious. Alexander, our eldest wanted to be a dayboy at public school and gained 65% at Common Entrance into Stowe. Ollie is in his final year at WHS and is being 'nurtured' in every aspect from the academics to sport and social skills. Neither of them was musical or artistic but had they been so the opportunities would have been endless.
The fact that WHS is co-educational provides an added dimension. The friendships that they have built during the years will last forever. This applies to us as parents as well. WHS is such a friendly school particularly with the addition of the Friends of Winchester House, otherwise known as the 'Hippos' (nothing to do with the shape of the Committee Members). No parent should ever feel excluded as each term there are many social events at which parents can meet over a few glasses of wine. Parental support for sports, musical recitals, concerts, plays etc is actively encouraged and the children greatly appreciate it.
The arrival of Mark Seymour as the new Head Master has opened many new doors that will only enhance the 'final product'. Our only regret is that Ollie is our last child to benefit from the 'Winchester House Experience'."
From current parents of a day pupil......
"From the very first time we visited WHS, we noticed the cheerful, friendly faces and courteous manner of children who obviously enjoy being there. We very much appreciate the encouragement that the staff give to the children to not only do their best, but also to show care and consideration for other people".
From a parent with children in the Pre-Prep and Upper School
"When we first came to WHS we were very impressed, not only by the facilities it had to offer but also by the positive attitudes of the teachers and children.
It has more than lived up to our expectations, providing new challenges and opportunities for both our children in a caring and supportive environment. In particular, our daughter, then in Year 1, has benefited from the excellent Upper School facilities ? ICT, Music and Sport. She should find it easy to make the transition to Upper School.
The flexible approach to boarding has allowed our son to find his independence at his own pace. (Probably faster than this Mother would wish!)
