Pre-prep and preparatory school on the Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire borders
On Wednesday 26th February, the Seligman Building was invaded by 70 young Viking warriors! They spent the day taking part in a fabulous Viking workshop led by a Viking lady, Lyota Hardbendota, who spent the day with them doing a variety of Viking-themed activities to complement the Creative Curriculum theme they are studying this term.
After an introductory talk, the young Vikings took part in a quiz activity. Then they split into groups for a Viking board game and a kennings (poetry) guessing game, both of which were great fun. In the afternoon there was a weapons and armour display and military drill and they ended with a Viking king's burial, artefact handling and the story of Valhalla (the Viking equivalent of Heaven).
As you can see from the photos everyone had an amazing time!
