Chapel

During Chapel, we aim to deliver services that explore values and beliefs that are relevant to pupils, addressing key moral and ethical ideas as well as encouraging them to think about scripture and how this may impact how they lead their lives.

Many of our chapel services link with the faith calendar and other world religions making chapel themes relevant and engaging for pupils. This, for example, allows us to teach pupils about different festivals and key messages from a variety of faiths and world views. Housians are encouraged  to reflect on, and give thanks for, the week through our set service using our beautiful Winchester House service and hymnal book.

In chapel, we aim to

  • build and nurture a sense of close community.
  • provide a quiet space for reflection and prayer on issues beyond the everyday business of school life.
  • provide a forum for the promotion and celebration of shared values.
  • allow for communal singing – something that many people refer to as fun and uplifting.

In addition to the Chapel services, we also have a variety of regular whole school services at St. Peter’s, our local church here in Brackley. These offer an additional opportunity for students to worship and brings the whole school community together at key moments in the school year such as Easter, Harvest and Christmas
