We are committed to our local community, embodying the spirit of our School motto Non Nobis Solum – not for ourselves alone.
We engage in various projects and events throughout the year. Our commitment to our community was recognised in January 2021 when we received the prestigious ‘Rose of Northamptonshire Award’ for our contribution during the pandemic and in 2022 when we were shortlisted for an Independent School of the Year Award in the Community category.
Our community initiatives have included the Brackley Community Dementia-Friendly Choir, where residents of care homes join us for an uplifting sing-a-long with Winchester house pupils. Through our Pen Pal Scheme, children exchanged letters with care home residents, our Flowers for Friends initiative saw spring flowers donated by pupils sent to residents too.
We also have nominated charities every year – chosen by pupils – and elect pupil Charity Ambassadors in Year 8. Annual fundraising takes place for Children in Need and Comic Relief.
Other events have included our Classic Car Show, Dog Show and Brackley Elves hamper collection, an Alumni Carol Service, Pumpkin Festival, involvement in the Brackley Carnival Parade and Soap Box Racing, Act of Remembrance Service and Brackley Remembrance Parade.
