History is taught at part of the Creative Curriculum in Pre-Prep and Year 3 & 4. Topics are taught with their class teacher and include World War II, Egyptians and the Romans. Year 5 to 8 History is taught as a discrete subject by specialist teachers, following the ISEB syllabus with topics including Medieval Realms, the Tudors, The Stuarts and the making of Modern Britain.
We aim to inspire a love of history, whilst developing an understanding of cause and consequence and historical significance. We provide opportunities to analyse, evaluate and use historical sources.
Learning opportunities outside of the classroom have included visits to the Black Country Museum, the Tower of London and Mary Arden’s Farm.
