Winchester House Academic Scholars Shine at International Da Vinci Decathlon Finals
On Monday, 30th September, Winchester House School’s 2024 Academic Scholars took part in the International Finals of the Da Vinci Academic Decathlon at Trinity College, Oxford. Representing the UK, the team—Sophie, Lewis, Kasia, Whistley, and Lauren from Stowe School, along with Joe from Rugby School—competed across ten disciplines, including ideation, engineering, cartography, and code-breaking.
The team faced strong competition from schools in Australia and the UK, working through a variety of academic challenges. After a full day of problem-solving, they attended a fascinating lecture by Professor Kemp, who explored Leonardo da Vinci’s contributions to science and art, including his anatomical studies of the heart.
The event also gave the team a chance to reconnect, having all recently started at Stowe and Rugby Schools. The setting of Trinity College, Oxford, added to the experience, creating an inspiring atmosphere for the competition.
