Bombs and Blackberries

9th December 2022
Seligman’s World War II play ‘Bombs and Blackberries’ written by author Julia Donaldson and directed by Mrs Montgomery-Miller was a feast for the eyes! The play follows the fortunes of the Chivers family from Manchester whose children were sent to the safety of the country as evacuees.
The Seligman children performed with enormous maturity, sensitivity and confidence taking the audience back in time through word and song. Seligman staff had thought of every last detail, with even the programme designed as a ration book. Big thanks too to the Music Department and Mr Bradshaw for their support throughout.
Members of the Brackley Community Dementia-Friendly Choir watched the dress rehearsal, singing along with gusto and waving Union Jacks to the wartime songs.
