Interschools Ski Race

The team secured a gold medal and trophy in the U10 girls category, as well as a silver medal in the slalom, and a commendable 5th place in a competitive field of U10 racers. Even our youngest team member exhibited impressive skills in both slalom and GS, making significant contributions to the team’s overall score, resulting in a fantastic 5th place finish.

We extend a special acknowledgment to Mr Glen Greener, the head coach of the WHS team, and our consultant instructor, whose expertise in ski racing significantly boosted the team’s performance. With their guidance, along with a thorough two-day training programme and race support, the team was well-prepared for the event. Mr Silman fulfilled his role as the WHS team captain, providing leadership throughout the competition. Also many thanks to the parents of competitors for their support. It was truly a collaborative effort, and we express our huge thanks to everyone involved.

As we look forward to next year’s event, Mr. Silman is organising a waiting list for interested children eager to compete and potentially advance to U12 status. The venue for the upcoming event will be announced in November 2024, with anticipated race dates set around the second week of March 2025.
