King’s Coronation

The whole school celebrated the coronation of King Charles III in style, enjoying a variety of events ranging from a tree-planting in the Seligman playground attended by HousianĀ Lt Comm Colin Harris, delicious food by Thomas Franks including a lunch for the Brackley Community Dementia-Friendly Choir, an array of workshops ranging from water colours of Windsor Castle to designing a new stamp, Ms Lee & Lady McGowan showing the children ceremonial robes worn at the Queen’s coronation in 1953 and a coronation chair, the whole school singing ‘Coronation Day’ at assembly and parent Mr Stevens (formerly of the Grenadier Guards) teaching Bradshaw children how to stand to attention and march before heading down the drive to be inspected by Queen Camilla!
At the end of the day, parents and children met in the Reading Room to toast the King and enjoy a tea party fit for a King!
A truly wonderful day was had by all.
