Little Red Riding Hood in Year 2

At the beginning of the term, Year 2 children came into school to find an unusual scene in Bradshaw! The scene had been taped off as a big mess had been left. The Year 2 children were sent up to investigate and became detectives for the morning. They looked closely at the different clues and thought about what could’ve happened and who the objects could belong to. After much deliberation they decided that the big bad wolf was to blame for the mess after spotting a claw mark escaping out of the window! No sign of the wolf, Granny or Little Red Riding hood as of yet…
This term we are using Little Red Riding Hood as a stimulus for our creative writing and art activities. This week we have been creating our own newspaper wolves. This links to our topic ‘A Walk in the Woods’, where we have been investigating leaves and seeds from different trees and using them to identify different trees. We are looking forward to using this knowledge when we go to Evenley Woods.
