Townsend Warner History Prize
Several of our Year 7 and 8 pupils took part in the Townsend Warner History Prize. Out of 1275 entries this year, only the top 250 progressed to the next stage. We’re delighted to share that three of our pupils have successfully advanced to the next round of the Townsend Warner History Prize, securing 134th, 99th, and an impressive 16th place respectively, with Joe achieving the 16th position. Congratulations to them and to all participants for their achievements.
Established 139 years ago, the Townsend Warner History Prize is a prestigious national competition tailored for preparatory school students who possess a passion for history.
Over its long-standing history, the Townsend-Warner competition has nurtured remarkable talent, with past winners notably Kwasi Kwarteng, Chancellor of the Exchequer from September 2002 until October 14, 2022. Each year, around 1,000 students from diverse schools across the UK and abroad eagerly take on the demanding one-hour paper challenge.
