Winchester House Tatler Review 2025

We’re thrilled to share the Tatler Schools 2025 review for Winchester House School:

“There’s magic in the air at WHS: a Hogwarts-ish main dining room is illuminated by candles at Christmas time, while a ‘secret’ garden is given over to building dens and sitting around campfires. And providing outdoor experiences is a passion project of head Antonia Lee, whose belief in ‘free-range children’ has seen her charges allowed to roam the 18-acre grounds ever since she joined in 2022. Lee’s measure of success is ‘happy and relaxed children’ who are known by every teacher personally; but track-and-field events are also focused on, with access to Stowe’s facilities supplementing this partner school’s own impressive offering (which extends to polo and lacrosse). Everyone looks forward to sports day, when ice-cream vans and lavish picnics cover the lawns.”

Winchester House is a co-educational day and boarding independent prep school in Northamptonshire, near the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire borders, for children from nursery (age 3) to year 8 (age 13).
