Winton Cup

Winchester House School proudly took part in the Winton Cup – a prestigious Prep School Humanities Competition
exploring the vital question: “How do we build climate resilience?”
Pupils engaged in a dynamic day of learning across a wide range of subjects, including Politics, Philosophy & Religion, History, History of Art, and Geography. It was a fantastic opportunity to think critically and creatively about one of the most pressing issues of our time. We are delighted to share that WHS came third overall – a brilliant achievement!
The day began with an inspiring keynote by Tanya Brittain, General Manager at the National Trust. Tanya’s extensive work in environmental advocacy, her leadership roles in sustainable industries, and her cultural contributions as a writer, ambassador, and award-winning folk and Celtic musician made for a powerful and memorable start to the competition.
The Winton Cup is named in honour of Old Stoic, Sir Nicholas Winton MBE, his bravery and courage are fine examples of the humanistic principles that we should be encouraging in our pupils.
Congratulations to our pupils for their excellent participation and thoughtful contributions throughout the day.
