[Winchester House's] nursery department is thriving, with children able to start here in the term they turn three. They get to enjoy lovely weekly ‘Going Wild’ sessions in the Secret Garden, and they also use all the facilities of the main school, including specialist teachers who come over to the nursery to teach ICT, French, music and sport.

Fully co-ed, with a charming cohort of pupils who mix easily together and come across as children enjoying being just that... Science a strength, with all three sciences taught separately by specialist teaching staff through ‘as much practical work as we can manage’

...academics are approached with a ‘growth mindset’ (Head Antonia Lee was proud to hear a Year 4 pupil recently say that self-marking helped them ‘think about what questions I ask myself next time I’m stuck, so I can work out the right answer.’) Inspiring speakers such as Clare Balding make regular visits, and Mastery Mornings see the children learning new crafts with experts.

Winchester House is a traditional co-ed prep, pre-prep and nursery school for 3-13 year olds sitting in 18 acres in the attractive market town of Brackley in south Northamptonshire......Sport is wholeheartedly embraced here with some rather niche option as well as the standard offerings, including polo club, a ski team, riding lessons, and squash.
