All projects are taught with respect to contemporary and art historical influences so that students develop an appreciation and deeper understanding of some key artistic movements.
As pupils progress through the school, they will build on their prior knowledge from these different disciplines with progressively challenging artistic concepts and techniques.
Evening activities are provided outside of the curriculum for those who wish to extend their work or focus on some specialist projects.
All pupils from Year 3 upwards are encouraged to work independently in their sketchbooks. The art room is usually open during break times for pupils to use if they wish.
